Innovative 3D Printer Can Print Objects from Living Grass
(3Ders.org) A team of students at the University of Maribor in Slovenia developed an innovative 3D printer that can print objects out of living grass. Print GREEN prints using a mixture of soil, water and grass seeds. The results are beautiful 3D-printed grass designs that are capable of sprouting and turning green over time.
The team was Maja Petek, Tina Zidansek, Urska Skaza, Danica Rzenicnik and Simon Trzan, as well as assistant professor Dusan Zidar. The team’s Print GREEN, or “Tiskaj ZELENO” combines art, nature and technology in one unusual but innovative device.
